If you knew something that could improve your life, would you use it?
In business we spend a lot of time applying the latest techniques for improving performance and delivering financial success. We plan, analyse, go lean, improve processes, deliver quality. Yet most of us apply far more rigorous, structured and systematic thinking making money for other people than building happiness for ourselves. Isn't that a little unusual?
In our own lives, it suddenly gets woolly - now it's all about emotion, chance, going with the flow. What's happened? Rest assured. This is not yet another blog about positive thinking and writing goals. All that is assumed behaviour. Instead, it takes concrete ideas such as Six Sigma that have revolutionized business in the last decade and shows how you can use them to achieve your personal goals.
Ideas with a track record
These are academically respectable, tried and tested concepts with a strong track record. The adventure is applying them to your own life and circumstances both in - and most crucially, outside - the office.
I am not a success guru and I don't have all the answers. I am however a certified Six Sigma Black Belt with over a decade of commercial experience. Some of the ideas on this blog won't work for you. Others may be worth their weight in gold.
The next step is up to you.
